This antique wood molding plane pair is marked (stamped) with the crafter's name Wm Kesson along with numbers that we assume were assigned to reference the style of cut. Tools such as these were used to hand craft moldings and trims used in furniture making, door frames, photo frames and window frames. Today this is done with electrical hand or automated tools. We've come a long way baby! Your purchase is for both planes.
Perfect for the collector of vintage and antique tools and also as a conversation piece in his shop or man cave. Markings and sizes are shown below.
The plane with the "S" shape blade is 9-7/16" long, the plane with the "C" shape blade is 9-3/8" long.
Both planes are in expected condition with both showing wear as they were used as intended. We feel they are both in very good condition considering their age.
