Interesting one of a kind ashtray. This is a combination of two items that were re-purposed into one. The metal ashtray bottom was always an ashtray and is marked U S Pat 142694. After searching the U S Patent database we come up with D142694 (the D standing for design) from Oct.. 30, 1945 and the item matches the base of our piece perfectly! The addition appears to be the Lincoln bust statue which is a vintage copper piece. Wonderful patina! A bit of the glue/epoxy used to adhere the bust is visible around the base (see photos).

The pairing makes for a striking and one of a kind piece. Perfect for the collector.
