This small (but heavyweight) antique cast iron cauldron is marked SWETT on the bottom. Original bale is still attached to the ears on either side of the pot. We have seen this size cauldron referred to as lead pot, glue pot and mini cauldrons. Whatever you choose to call it - it is a wonderful example of how well cast iron stands the test of time.
Measures 6" diameter at the top x 3" diameter at the raised ring on the bottom. The sides are 4" tall and it is 7-1/4" high with the bale raised. Approximately 5" diameter at the belly of the pot. We believe these measurements would make this a size #6 pot. (although we cannot read the 6 on the bottom).
Some rust and pitting is evident (see photos) but the piece remains significant and sturdy. Sprucing up (should you choose to do so) may be accomplished with the application of a wire brush, steel wool, oil and heat.
The perfect addition to a rustic or farm decor and a great addition to your Halloween centerpiece display!
