You are looking at a rare find in this Pewter Vase manufactured by the Weidlich Brothers Manufacturing Company, Bridgeport Ct. It appears to be from the Arts and Crafts period which would put it in the earlier era of their manufacturing. It is rare in that the majority of their items were silver plated while this is 100% pewter. After several exhaustive searches we cannot find another like this listed.
The markings on the bottom are (in order of top to bottom) Sailing ship, MAYFLOWER, PEWTER, W.B. Mfg Co. (in a shield), 3261.
The urn measures 4-3/4" tall x 2-3/4" belly diameter. A slight out of roundness in the rim and slight dent on bottom edge does not detract from the simple but elegant lines of this item. Beautiful patina!
